Public Services Association (PSA) president Felisha Thomas has confirmed that the union has received a formal offer of a ten per cent salary increase from Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) Daryl Dindial.
Speaking with reporters on November 21 following a meeting with the CPO, Thomas said, “Another promise made, another promise delivered.”
She noted that the PSA had previously written to the CPO’s office expressing concern that the meeting might shift the focus away from closing negotiations, especially after learning that a presentation on the state of the economy would be included.
“Prior to today’s meeting, we reminded the CPO that we are not at the beginning of negotiations. The PSA is interested in the mandate given by the Minister of Finance to put a ten per cent offer on the table,” Thomas said.
“I am happy to report to the PSA membership that the acting CPO has delivered a ten per cent offer, which we now have in hand.”
Thomas added that the union intends to respond to the proposal by the end of the day, saying the priority remains to conclude negotiations and ensure members receive outstanding payments by Christmas.
