The Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago welcomed seven new puisne judges on Tuesday, marking a significant expansion of the High Court bench.
The appointments were formalised during a ceremony at the President’s House in St Ann’s, where President Christine Carla Kangaloo administered the Oath of Office. Ronnie Boodoosingh was also in attendance.
The newly appointed judges bring a wide range of legal experience, spanning public service, criminal law, corporate practice, industrial relations, and the Magistracy. Their combined expertise is expected to strengthen the administration of justice at the High Court level.
Newly appointed Puisne Judges
- Justice Rehanna Hosein – Former Master of the High Court and Senior Magistrate
- Justice Hasine Shaikh, SC – Former Chief Public Defender
- Justice Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal – Former Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions
- Justice Sherlanne Pierre – Former Master of the High Court and IAWJ Director
- Justice Wendy Ali – Former Industrial Court member and CEO of NWRHA
- Justice Nirad Samnadda-Ramrekersingh – Attorney in private practice
- Justice Adia Mohammed – Master of the High Court (Criminal Division)
