Soldier charged over missing 28,000 rounds at Camp Cumuto
After months of investigation, a warrant officer has been charged with three offences over the disappearance of nearly 28,000 rounds of military-grade ammunition from a bunker at Camp Cumuto.
Defence Force officials said the charges relate to negligence and bringing the regiment into disrepute. The case will be heard internally, and Chief of Defence Staff Air Vice Marshal Darryl Daniel will decide whether it proceeds to a Court Martial.
The ammunition was discovered missing in early February, prompting a lockdown and search of the camp.
