Police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a Maloney woman early this morning.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Simone Rose.
According to eyewitnesses, around 6:30 a.m., Rose had just exited a taxi at the intersection of the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway and O’Meara Road and was standing on the shoulder of the eastbound lane when she was struck by a passing vehicle.
The driver failed to stop or offer assistance. Witnesses described the vehicle as white in colour, but were unable to identify its make, model, or registration number.
